About the Role

Cover People are seeking a KS3/KS4 English Teacher for a secondary school in the Trafford area. This is an excellent opportunity for an English specialist seeking a long-term role in a supportive school environment.

Dates: After February Half Term – July 2026
Days: Full-time (5 days per week) preferred, though part-time availability may be considered
Workload: Some planning and marking required, with schemes of work already in place

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils

  • Follow school schemes of work, adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners

  • Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and student engagement

  • Assess and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Proven experience teaching English within a UK secondary setting

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effectively across KS3–KS4

  • Right to work in the UK
