About the Role:
Cover People are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a Primary school based in Eccles, Salford starting from September 2025.
This is a full time, long- term opportunity for a passionate and reliable educator to make a real impact. The successful candidate will be expected to support the children’s learning and development in a nurturing environment, contributing positively to the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to Year 1 pupils, helping them with literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Manage behaviour effectively and support students in developing positive relationships with their peers.
- Lead a class independently for one afternoon a week, ensuring smooth classroom management and engagement.
- Help create a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages children to thrive.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other staff members to assess and monitor student progress.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3, or equivalent)
- Experience in a primary school setting
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to lead a class confidently, particularly during the weekly afternoon sessions once a week.
- Excellent communication skills, both with children and colleagues.
- A proactive and adaptable attitude, with the ability to support and encourage children of varying abilities.
- Right to work in the UK

- SEND experience or additional qualifications
- Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities
