Male PE Teachers – Stockport & South Manchester – September Starts
Cover People are currently recruiting enthusiastic and adaptable Male PE Teachers for a range of secondary schools across Stockport and South Manchester for September 2026 starts.
These opportunities include a mixture of daily supply, short-term cover, and long-term teaching roles within supportive and well-established schools. The positions are ideal for qualified PE Teachers, Sports Coaches with school-based experience, or confident Cover Supervisors with a strong sporting background who are passionate about promoting physical education, teamwork, and student engagement.
Successful candidates will be expected to:
• Deliver engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Maintain strong classroom and behaviour management
• Encourage participation, confidence, and positive attitudes towards sport and fitness
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and teaching expectations
• Support extracurricular sport where required
Schools are particularly interested in candidates who:
• Have previous experience teaching or coaching within secondary schools
• Are confident leading practical PE lessons independently
• Can build positive relationships with students and staff
• Are reliable, professional, and flexible in their approach
Requirements:
• Must be registered with Cover People
• Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service to be considered
• QTS is desirable but not essential for some cover-based roles
• Availability from September 2026
