Cover People are proud to be recruiting on behalf of one of our valued primary schools, who are launching a brand-new SEND provision dedicated to supporting primary-aged children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We are seeking experienced, resilient, and proactive SEND Teaching Assistants to join this exciting and rewarding new provision. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children who need support to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with a variety of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

  • Implement tailored strategies and interventions in collaboration with teachers and the SENDCo

  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing

  • Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment

  • Support pupils with personal care if required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a school setting

  • A positive, proactive approach to managing challenging behaviour and promoting engagement

  • A calm, caring, and patient nature

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

  • Team Teach or other relevant SEND training (desirable but not essential)
