Job Title: SEMH/SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Support
Location: Sale, Greater Manchester
Salary: £95-£100
Contract: Full-time, Term-time Only
Start Date: Immediate or September 2025
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH/SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our specialist SEN schools in Sale. This rewarding role involves working on a one-to-one basis with a young boy with Autism, providing consistent support in both his academic and social development.
About the Role:

Support a young pupil with autism in the classroom and during unstructured times

Implement strategies tailored to his EHCP and emotional needs

Collaborate with class teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure progress

Encourage independence, communication, and positive behaviours
About You:
-
Previous experience supporting children with SEN/SEMH needs (Autism experience preferred)

Resilient, proactive, and confident in managing behaviour and adapting approaches
-
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

A calm, empathetic approach and strong communication skills

Team player with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
