Cover People UK are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an Outstanding primary school in Stockport, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant or HLTA to join their supportive team. About the Role

As a Level 3 TA or HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You may be required to lead small group interventions, provide one-to-one support, and occasionally deliver lessons or cover classes in the teacher’s absence. This role is ideal for an experienced TA ready to take on more responsibility, or a HLTA seeking a new challenge in an Outstanding setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning in line with the national curriculum.

  • Lead small group interventions to raise attainment and close gaps in learning.

  • Provide tailored one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs.

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons when covering for the class teacher.

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to maximise pupil progress.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Level 3 TA qualification (HLTA status desirable).

  • Has experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary school.

  • Demonstrates strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.

  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.

  • Shows initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to pupil progress.

Requirements

  • Must be registered with Cover People UK.

  • Must hold a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to complete a new application through Cover People UK.
