Cover People UK is working on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in the beautiful High Peak area. We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team from October 2025. This role involves general classroom support with a strong focus on working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development within a supportive school environment.
The Role

Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom.

Providing targeted support to pupils with SEN, either one-to-one or in small groups.

Assisting with the preparation of learning activities and resources.

Promoting inclusion and ensuring all pupils have access to learning.

Supporting children’s social, emotional and academic progress.

Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support plans.
About You
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can demonstrate:

A patient, nurturing approach with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of different learners.

Experience of working with children with SEN (desirable but not essential).

Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions as well as use initiative.
Requirements:

Must be registered with Cover People UK (or willing to register).

Must hold a valid DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through Cover People UK.

Due to the location of the school, own transport is preferable.
