Pastoral Support with Cover People
At Cover People, we understand that both pastoral support and Physical Education (PE) teaching are integral to creating a positive, nurturing, and engaging environment for students. If you're a teacher with a passion for supporting the well-being of students or promoting physical health, we have a range of opportunities available for you to make a real difference.
Pastoral Support Teacher – Supporting Students' Well-being
As a Pastoral Support Teacher, your role will focus on nurturing students’ emotional, social, and mental well-being. You will work closely with students to provide support and guidance, helping them navigate challenges, build resilience, and develop essential life skills. Whether you're offering one-on-one support, managing small groups, or working with teachers and parents to ensure students’ needs are met, your role will be central to improving students' overall experience in school.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing emotional and behavioural support to students, helping them overcome personal or academic challenges.
Acting as a mentor for students who may be at risk of exclusion or experiencing difficulties at home or school.
Coordinating and leading intervention programmes to promote positive behaviour and well-being.
Working collaboratively with the wider school team to ensure students’ individual needs are met.
Helping to develop and implement strategies that support both academic and emotional growth.
What We Look For:
Experience working in pastoral roles, with a strong understanding of student welfare and behaviour management.
A compassionate and empathetic approach, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, parents, and outside agencies.
Resilience and patience when working with students who face significant challenges.
Inspiring Physical Health and Well-being
As a Pastoral Support Teacher, your role will go beyond teaching physical skills; you’ll be encouraging students to adopt a healthy lifestyle, develop teamwork, and build confidence through sport and physical activity. At Cover People, we know that physical education plays a crucial role in promoting both physical and mental health, and we are looking for people who share our passion for encouraging young people to get active, have fun, and develop important life skills.
