Geography Teacher – Secondary School

Location: Hazel Grove, Stockport (SK7)
Start Date: After Easter half term
Contract: Full-time & Long-term

Cover People UK is currently recruiting a passionate and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to work within a secondary school in the Hazel Grove (SK7) area of Stockport. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school environment and inspire students through engaging Geography lessons.

The successful candidate will be confident teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students develop a strong understanding of the world around them while encouraging curiosity about environmental, physical, and human geography topics.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan and deliver well-structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Encourage curiosity about global issues, environments, and cultures

  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback

  • Maintain strong classroom behaviour and a positive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with the Humanities department and wider school staff

We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant secondary teaching experience

  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Passion for inspiring students and promoting interest in Geography

  • Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – essential

  • Ability to work within the Hazel Grove / Stockport area

  • Willingness to be registered with Cover People UK

Candidates must hold a DBS on the Update Service and be registered with, or willing to register with, Cover People UK to be considered for this role.
