SEMH Teaching Assistant – South Manchester
Location: South Manchester (including Wythenshawe, Chorlton & Didsbury)
Contract: Long-Term / Potential to go Permanent
Pay: £90–£110 per day (depending on experience)

Cover People are proud to be working with a nurturing and inclusive primary school in South Manchester, who are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This role is ideal for someone who can be a positive role model, build strong relationships, and bring patience, empathy and structure to pupils who need extra support.
The Role:

Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils displaying SEMH or behavioural needs.

Help children regulate emotions, engage with learning and develop confidence.

Support the class teacher and pastoral team in creating a safe, stable environment.

Encourage positive behaviour and resilience through calm, consistent guidance.
About You:

Experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs.

Confident, patient and able to de-escalate challenging situations.

Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping young people.

DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
