Cover People are recruiting experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistants for roles within primary schools in Oldham. We work with several “Good” Ofsted-rated schools looking for skilled and caring support staff to work with pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Role Overview:

Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN / SEND needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties

Support teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management and inclusion strategies

Help pupils build confidence, independence, and social skills

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure progress and well-being
Requirements:

Minimum 6 months’ experience in a UK school or education setting (essential – even if you have worked abroad)

A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Cover People

A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Driver’s licence and own vehicle desirable but not essential
