Salary: £90–£100 per day
Contract: Temp to perm opportunity

Are you a caring and resilient teaching assistant with a passion for making a difference?
Cover People are working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated 'Good' independent special school in Partington that supports children and young people aged 8 to 25 with autism, complex learning needs, and behavioural challenges.

This school combines academic learning with life skills, outdoor education, and community engagement in a nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to grow emotionally, socially, and educationally. The team are dedicated, collaborative, and committed to providing consistent, person-centred support.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • One-to-one and small group support: Help pupils access the curriculum and meet individual targets set out in their EHCPs.

  • Classroom support: Work alongside teaching staff to deliver activities tailored to different learning styles and needs.

  • Encouraging independence: Guide students to build confidence, life skills, and self-esteem.

  • Positive behaviour support: Use effective strategies to manage behaviour and promote engagement.

  • Collaborative working: Communicate effectively with SENCOs, therapists, and school staff to ensure a joined-up approach.

  • Track progress: Maintain accurate records and contribute to regular reviews of student development.

  • Emotional support: Build trusting relationships and provide consistent, caring interactions to help students feel safe and valued.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Background education: Previous experience working with young people is essential. Experience in SEN is desirable but not essential.

  • Calm, patient, and adaptable: Able to respond flexibly to changing needs and behaviours.

  • Team-focused: Willing to work closely with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.

  • Strong communication skills: Confident in working with students, staff, and families.

  • Willingness to learn: We welcome candidates with the right attitude, and offer training if you don’t yet have SEN-specific qualifications.

Why Join This School?

  • A meaningful role: Support students with unique challenges to thrive in a supportive and understanding environment.

  • Supportive team: Work with colleagues who are experienced, approachable, and committed to inclusive education.

  • Training provided: Access CPD and SEN-specific training to help you grow in your role.

  • Career progression: Long-term opportunity with the potential for a permanent contract.

  • Part of something bigger: Contribute to a school that genuinely values every student and staff member.
