Teaching Assistant (Sports Background) – Primary Schools Across North Manchester

We are recruiting Teaching Assistants with a sports background to work across a number of welcoming and inclusive Primary Schools in North Manchester. This role is perfect for individuals who love working with children and want to use their coaching or sporting experience to enhance learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- Use your sports experience to motivate pupils, encourage teamwork, and support positive behaviour.
- Assist with PE lessons, active learning opportunities, and outdoor activities.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support when required.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and wider school teams.
- Help maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Enthusiastic about working with children and supporting their progress.
- Confident and proactive, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Experienced in coaching or delivering physical activity sessions.
- Patient, adaptable, and capable of working effectively in busy school settings.
✔ Essential Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working with children (schools, coaching, holiday clubs, community sport).
- A background in sport—coaching qualifications, degrees, or NGB awards are highly desirable.
Safeguarding
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- A solid understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
