Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools

Location: Trafford, Greater Manchester
Contract: Day-to-day / Short-term / Long-term Opportunities

Cover People UK is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a number of secondary schools in the Trafford area of Greater Manchester. With multiple roles available across different schools, this is an excellent opportunity for confident individuals who enjoy working with young people and want to gain valuable experience in a school environment.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, youth workers, sports coaches, or experienced school staff looking for flexible or longer-term opportunities within secondary education.

The Role

  • Supervising classes during teacher absence using pre-set lesson plans

  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment

  • Ensuring students remain on task and complete their work

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on lesson progress

  • Supporting the wider school community and following safeguarding procedures

We Are Looking For

  • Experience working with secondary-aged pupils (school, coaching, tutoring, youth work, etc.)

  • Confident classroom presence and good behaviour management skills

  • Strong communication and organisational abilities

  • Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach

  • A genuine interest in working within education

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – essential

  • Ability to work across schools within the Trafford area

  • Willingness to register with Cover People UK

Candidates must hold a DBS on the Update Service and be registered with, or willing to register with Cover People UK to be considered for these roles.
