Food Technology Teacher – Secondary School

Cover People UK is currently recruiting a Food Technology Teacher to work within a secondary school in Stockport. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and practical educator to join a supportive school environment and inspire students through creative, hands-on learning in the kitchen.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students develop essential cooking skills, nutritional awareness, and an understanding of food preparation and safety.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan and prepare practical cooking lessons in line with the curriculum

  • Promote safe food preparation and hygiene practices

  • Manage practical classroom environments effectively

  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment

We Are Looking For

  • Experience teaching Food Technology or Design & Technology (Food specialism)

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Confidence managing practical lessons and kitchen environments

  • Passion for teaching cooking, nutrition, and life skills

  • Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – essential

  • Willingness to register with Cover People UK

  • Ability to work within the Stockport area

Desirable:

  • Food Hygiene / Food Safety qualification

Candidates must hold a DBS on the Update Service and be registered with, or willing to register with, Cover People UK to be considered for this role.
