Contract: Temporary (with potential for extension or permanent placement)

Are you a nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to support young children at the very start of their education journey?

We’re currently working with a number of inclusive and welcoming primary schools seeking Early Years Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 and small group support in NurseryandReception classes. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a critical stage of development.

Pupils may present with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language delays, sensory needs, or social and emotional challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning and daily routines.

  • Deliver play based and structured interventions to develop communication, early literacy and numeracy, and social skills.

  • Assist with behavioural and emotional regulation, using gentle, consistent approaches.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support learning plans and strategies.

  • Contribute to progress tracking, observations, and learning journals in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

  • Offer pastoral care, helping young children feel safe, settled, and supported throughout the school day.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working in EYFS, particularly with children with special educational needs.

  • Knowledge of child development and inclusive EYFS practices.

  • A caring, calm, and patient approach with a passion for supporting young learners.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

What’s on Offer:

  • Opportunities to work in inclusive, well-supported primary settings.

  • Access to ongoing training and CPD, including SEN strategies and EYFS best practice.

  • A chance to make a real impact during the most formative years of a child’s life.

  • Potential for long-term roles or permanent placements.
