Youth Support Worker – Sporting Background
Locations: Bolton, Bury & Rochdale
Contract: Flexible supply / short-term and long-term opportunities
Cover People are currently working in partnership with schools and alternative provisions across Bolton, Bury and Rochdale and are seeking enthusiastic Youth Support Workers with sporting experience to support children and young people in educational settings.
These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about sport, mentoring, and making a positive impact on young people’s development, behaviour, and engagement in learning.
The Role

Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups within school or alternative provision settings

Use sport and physical activity as a tool to engage, motivate, and build positive relationships

Support social, emotional, and behavioural development

Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leads
The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, youth work, or community sport

A sporting background (coaching, mentoring, PE support, or competitive sport)

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

A calm, resilient, and proactive approach

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new DBS application)
