Cover Supervisor – Science Experience Required

Cover People UK is currently recruiting a Cover Supervisor with Science experience to work within a secondary school in Stockport.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a Science background who are confident leading a classroom and supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4. The role would suit graduates in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related disciplines, experienced cover supervisors, or aspiring teachers looking to gain further school-based experience.
The Role:

Supervising pre-set lessons across KS3 and KS4

Delivering Science-based cover where required

Managing classroom behaviour effectively
-
Keeping pupils engaged and on task

Supporting students’ understanding of lesson content where appropriate

Providing clear feedback to teaching staff

Following school behaviour and safeguarding policies
Requirements:

A background in Science (degree, tutoring, lab work, or school experience preferred)

Experience working with secondary-aged pupils

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

Confident communication and organisational abilities

Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Essential:

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Willingness and ability to register with Cover People UK
